Slowing Down

Honestly,

I think they should change the speed limits on the freeways to 55mph to help us save gas, or at least understand why people are traveling slower now, don't you?! OK, so you don't like this idea? Why not change the speed limit in only the lane on the right side of the road then, that way if someone wanted to save a few gallons of gas by traveling slower and not flooring it they could, I really feel that sometimes I just need to slow down in life and look at everything that's happening around me. I get so caught up in the "hustle and bustle" of everyday living, I forget to share it with the people in my life. It may just be that I'm the only one that sees this happening in my life and for that I am going to start slowing down a little more and focus more on the people I come in contact with each day.

Just the other day, I saw a homeless guy on the off ramp of the freeway. The guy didn't seem to be holding any particular sign trying to get money, food, or even a ride anywhere. In what seemed like a split second, I thought to myself "hey, I have one more bottle of water in my cooler!"  I felt the Lord tug my heart to give the guy the last water I had. After all, I was only 2 mins away from home. I like to think I would of given it to him if I was 6hrs away or 30 seconds away from home... The guy got up from his corner and walked toward my truck. As he arrived at my door I said "This is all I really have man, but I sure hope it helps!" And handed him the water. He looks at me with a huge smile and in a chuckle says, "It's funny I just thought to myself, dam I'm thirsty!" I laughed as did he, and I expressed that God loved him and we both parted ways.

It's this type of reaching out that I have been missing lately. And I'm glad the events leading up to that moment happened or I would of missed the best part of my day! I would of never been at that point in time if the things that had happened before that meeting never came to be. I forgot to mention, I drive auto parts around town all day to various companies. I had a last minute run out to Queen Creek and I live on the border of Tempe/Mesa. So you could see my dilemma. The worst part about it was, after I traveled 60-70 miles out of my way to deliver the part(s) to Queen Creek  the guy that ordered the parts said that he just cancelled the order. It's crazy to think if God wanted me at that place at that exact time, I must have been pretty far ahead of myself...
