Suitcases
Watch the video as Dara Maclean explains the story behind her new song "Suitcases".
She brings up a great point. What I understand from this song is that we as people tend to accumulate baggage along the journey we call life, but if you have ever been late to catch a plane at the airport or trying to run after a bus or taxi, you will notice that if you have suitcases with you it's makes it difficult to catch up, not to mention the bags sometimes just get in the way. I like this song because it shows how much we need Christ to help us out and He is willing to do so if we just give Him the bags and don't ask for them back.

Don't Wait
In this video Jenny from Addison Road explains the meaning behind the song "Don't Wait" from their latest album "Stories" which is available on (iTunes)
"Don't wait to live, don't wait to forgive someone, don't wait to love somebody. Don't wait to fix your marriage or to pour into your church or the people around you, don't put off living. Because today's the day we don't know, life is short it's unpredictable, it turns on a dime. At any moment it could be taken away from us." -Jenny (Addison Road)
"This day I call the heavens and the earth as witnesses against you that I have set before you life and death, blessings and curses. Now choose life, so that you and your children may live and that you may love the LORD your God, listen to his voice, and hold fast to him. For the LORD is your life, and he will give you many years in the land he swore to give to your fathers, Abraham, Isaac and Jacob."

"But you are a chosen people, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, a people belonging to God, that you may declare the praises of him who called you out of darkness into his wonderful light. 10 Once you were not a people, but now you are the people of God; once you had not received mercy, but now you have received mercy." -1Peter 2:9,10

Foster The People
"If anyone would come after me, he must deny himself and take up his cross and follow me. For whoever wants to save his life will lose it, but whoever loses his life for me will find it. What good will it be for a man if he gains the whole world, yet forfeits his soul? Or what can a man give in exchange for his soul? For the Son of Man is going to come in his Father’s glory with his angels, and then he will reward each person according to what he has done." -Jesus Christ
Whenever I listen to this song "I Would Do Anything For You" from Foster The People, this scripture (above) comes to mind. The thing is, I like to listen to music, all types of music and try and see God in the songs, whenever possible. I try and keep myself surrounded by uplifting and positive music, that is why the Axiom Show is mostly Christian music. Every once and while you will hear a secular song/band on the show. The reason is not because they are Christians, it is because the song in my mind has something to do with God. So if you find yourself asking why this or that song is on the show, say a little prayer and ask God to show you the reason and how it might relate to God himself...

Reaching Out
I ran across this video from the Jeremy Camp website, Jeremy explains how one day about 9 years ago in California he got the chance to reach out and help a man named David. At first he was on the phone and kind of brushed the man off before entering the DMV, but after feeling the convictions of his heart he prayed and asked for a second opportunity to really reach out to David, but when he left the DMV, David was gone. God gave him a second chance when Jeremy saw David again at a nearby "In N' Out" Jeremy asked David to join him for lunch, conversation and a prayer and now David, has returned 9 years later with the help of an email from his wife, arranging the meeting as a surprise to David to meet Jeremy again to see the new David.
Thoughts:
Jeremy hits the nail on the head when he passes along an encouraging quote...

Thoughts:
- This is a very touching story and really makes me stop and think about what God might be telling me but I'm too busy to hear.
- Remember to not get caught up in life to the point that we forget about the needs of others.
Jeremy hits the nail on the head when he passes along an encouraging quote...
"My encouragement to you guys is, if the Holy Spirit is prompting you to go to action, to speak to somebody, to reach out in some way, don't let it go..."
